Norman Rockwell at the Frist

American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell

Several members of the illustrator group stepped out Thursday night to see the Norman Rockwell exhibit at the Frist Center in Nashville. We met at the Cafe for dinner and conversation (I highly recommend the portabello sandwich), and afterward went upstairs to the gallery for a wonderful evening with many of Norman Rockwell’s best known and most inspiring pieces, including the Portrait of John F. Kennedy, Artist Facing Blank Canvas and The Problem We All Live With.

The Rockwell exhibit will be at the Frist through February 9. For information, see fristcenter.org/calendar-exhibitions/detail/norman-rockwell. There is also a nice descriptive brochure from the show that you can download from that page (under Resources) or from this link: American Chronicles Gallery Guide PDF.
